In this module, you will play the character of Detective before playing the character you have been assigned, to ensure no stone goes un-turned, and you have everything at your disposal to make certain your imagination stays sharp and you create the character the Director is looking for, and the one the script demands of you.

You’ll explore how you can lend your life experience to breathe soul, vitality and nuance to the character, so no two characters you play look or sound the same, but are natural, believable and will take your audiences on an epic journey they don’t want to end.

You will take a deep dive into the emotional and physical work that goes into embodying the role, so you create a character that imprints itself in the hearts of your audiences, like Joaquin Pheonix’s Joker or Eddie Redmayne’s Stephen Hawkin.

You’ll join me in the studio (via a pre-recorded acting class) to watch StandBy students being coached in two powerful exercises that take you away from the script and allow you to develop a living, breathing human who has a world away from the lines written down so you can bring this to rehearsals and impress directors with the depth of your character work.

You will then complete the exericses you have seen in the class. These should be done individually at home before you brin your work to the bonus live classes on Zoom where you’ll present these exericses to your coach for feedback.

You will practice the exercises at home before presenting them in your live class held on Zoom where you’ll gain valuable feedback from your coach.
