Take Luke.
Luke comes from a family who didn’t support his acting dreams. In fact, when he first decided to start pursuing acting professionally, his family thought it was a “phase” he was going through, they tried to find him other careers to look into and weren’t happy when he was made redundant from his well-paying day job, found himself skint and on the dole, and was spending what little money he did have on acting classes in another city.
Luke came to StandBy dejected, with no real direction in life and no sense of self-worth.
He knew he’d always had a secret love for acting, so decided to train at StandBy.
But what made him different?
He threw himself into every acting exercise, constantly asked for feedback, and always had questions for me about the business of acting.
Come rain or shine, broke with his back against the wall and only a splash of petrol left in his tank, his parents giving him grief about acting, it didn’t matter, he was at every single class and badgered me to teach him what I knew about the business.
In 11 years of training him, he’s only ever had 3 classes off – 1 due to illness and two due filming. This is the commitment it takes to both your talent and the business, which I know you have in you.
I could see Luke was hungry for more, so I created the Business of Acting Bootcamp. And although he’d got to a place where he now had a reputable agent, had won an award for his acting and had transitioned to paid only independent films, he lapped it up because he was aching for the next step.
Luke was the first student online, he engaged with all of the business of acting lessons, and he got even clearer on what it was he wanted to achieve with acting.
The fire had been lit, and the flames were not going out.

And he was scouted by top UK agent Narrow Road, who approached HIM for a meeting. He didn’t have TV work on his CV, he just put to use all of the tools and exercises he learnt in The Business of Acting Bootcamp that made his brand more sellable.
And now he’s landed his first ever Netflix job.

For the last 12 years, I’ve been on a mission to take students from the shadows of their dreams to Netflix, the BBC, the most prestigious regional theatres and to their first and next well-respected acting agents.
Because I am hellbent on turning all aspiring actors into Unstoppable Actors, and that includes you!
I started acting aged 14, and after a good run of paid acting jobs in both Theatre and Film, working with some of the most recognised actors in the UK I decided to take a break.
I focused solely on coaching other actors and passing on my experience and knowledge to help them land the roles of their dreams.
Recently the call to act grew stronger and stronger and I couldn’t ignore it anymore.
So I dusted off my casting profiles and sat back down to re-arm myself with the knowledge I pass onto students through the business of acting bootcamp. Yes, I took my own course and became my own student.
And because of that I landed a brand new agent and have been called in to countless auditions and I’m close to closing the deal on my first ever TV job, which has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl.
